How Our Mission Began!
In Acts 1 we see Jesus commissioning the disciples to a work that is bigger than anything they would have ever imagined for themselves. God was taking a small group of Jesus followers and sending them out with a mission to change the world! Their task was to reach people with the gospel, care for the community, make disciples, who in turn make other disciples, and to raise up co-laborers to send out into the world to plant churches or carry out other means of ministry. In just a short Cme, we see a fellowship of believers gathering who devoted their Cme to connecting with one another, worshipping together, studying God’s Word together, serving each other, and generously giving financially in order to support the work Christ called them to. This is what we have come to know as the church. In our sermon series, we will explore the church’s mission locally and globally while emphasizing generosity as the means of supporting the work Christ has called us to. When we give cheerfully and sacrificially, we ensure that the work of the Gospel continues unhindered. Funding the mission is an investment in eternity, ensuring that people hear the Gospel and experience God’s love. Our giving today helps shape the church of tomorrow and enables our children and future generaCons to carry the mission forward.
