"2 We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly mentioning you in our prayers, 3 remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Thessalonians 1:2-3, ESV)
The Makings of a Healthy Church!
"42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43 And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45 And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.” (Acts 2:42-47, ESV)
Devoted - “Giving all or a large part of one's time and resources to a person, activity, or cause.”
“16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17, ESV)
“Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!” (Psalm 133:1, ESV)
"45 And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need."
"46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes"
"47 And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved."
"12 Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me His own. 13 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:12-14, ESV)
LIFE GROUP NOTES SESSION 3
THE MAKINGS OF A HEALTHY CHURCH
Being a part of a healthy church leads to a rewarding life, family and purpose!
BIBLE STUDY NOTES
Acts 2:42-47; Hebrews 10:19-25
How do you measure your spiritual health as a believer? How do we measure the spiritual health of the church? These two things go hand in hand and if that is the case, what part do you play in leading the church to be healthy?
Where is your confidence? Where do you find joy? Our confidence must be in the finished work of Christ. How can we remember that on a daily basis and how can you share that with others as you stir them up and hold fast to the gospel yourself?
