“As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.” (John 20:21)
"1 After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of Him, two by two, into every town and place where He Himself was about to go. 2 And He said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. 3 Go your way; behold, I am sending you out as lambs in the midst of wolves.” (Luke 10:1-3, ESV)
God uses people for His mission!! (v.1)

“Jesus fed 5,000 but only 500 followed Him after lunch. He had 12 disciples but only 3 went further in the garden... and only 1 stood with Him at the cross. The closer you get to the cross, the smaller the crowd becomes.” ~ T.F. Tenney
Expect Opposition! (v.3)

"1. O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; My soul thirsts for you, my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. 2 So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding your power and glory. 3 Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you. 4 So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my hands.” (Psalm 63:1-4, ESV)
“Purify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do great wonders among you.” (Joshua 3:5, ESV)

Where do you find yourself lacking today? What can you do to intentionally participate in Jesus' mission to go out into your community and intentionally share your faith? What is keeping you from following his lead in the mission field?
LIVE IT OUT
Select at least one activity below to complete before next week.
Memorize Math 28:18-20. This week, focus on these verses, reciting it to yourself over the next few days.
Each morning this week, before you start your day, take a moment to invite God into whatever you have planned (work, errands, school, etc.). Ask him to lay opportunities in front of you to share Jesus with someone.
Set aside some time this week to evaluate your spiritual life. Consider whether you are orienting your life around God's mission. After doing so, make a plan with practical steps toward a more intentional approach to making disciples.
