The Master's Plan

“18 While walking by the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon (who is called Peter) and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. 19 And He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” 20 Immediately they left their nets and followed Him. 21 And going on from there He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets, and He called them. 22 Immediately they left the boat and their father and followed Him. (Matthew 4:18-22, ESV)

Anno Domini - A term that means “in the year of our Lord”.

“The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.” (Matthew 1:1, ESV)

Following Jesus means to live a life of abandonment for His glory!

“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Matthew 4:17, ESV)

“Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 2:38, ESV)

“If anyone would come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me.” (Luke 9:23, ESV)

“So therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.” (Luke 14:33, ESV)

Following Jesus means to live in the beauty of His grace!

“15 No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you…” (John 15:15-16, ESV)

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9, ESV)

"8 Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For His sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ…” (Philippians 3:8-9a, ESV)

Day by day as we all face temptations, we're facing critical decision points in our lives which may be different from Jesus, but have the same point. They're not just trying to get us to sin, but they're trying to lead us and others away from the glorious mission given to each and everyone of us.
