Jesus' Prayer for the Church!

“God changes times and seasons, He removes kings and sets up kings.” (Daniel 2:21)

…for those who fear His name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings! (Malachi 4:2)

"17 Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. 18 As you sent Me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. 19 And for their sake I consecrate Myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth. 20 “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word, 21 that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in Me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that You have sent Me. (John 17:17-21)

Jesus prays for our sanctification!

v. 17 "Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth."

“And I am sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:6)

Jesus prays for our unity!

"21 that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in Me, and I in you…”

“1 Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity! 2 It is like the precious oil on the head, running down on the beard, on the beard of Aaron, running down on the collar of his robes! (Psalm 133:1-2)

v. 21 - “…that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in Me, and I in you, that they also may be in us…”

“Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14)

Jesus prays for our influence!

v. 18 "As you sent Me into the world, so I have sent them into the world.

v. 20 “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word, 21 that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in Me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that You have sent Me."

“1 I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. 3 This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:1-4, ESV
