Becoming More Like Christ!
Becoming more like Christ!
18 As You sent Me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. 19 And for their sake I consecrate myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth.20 “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word, 21 that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in Me, and I in You, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent Me." (John 17:18-21, ESV)
The heart of Christ is that His disciples would live lives on mission!
18 ...You sent Me into the world, so I have sent them into the world."
"the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost." (Luke 19:10, ESV)
We have taught people how to share their faith, but we have not taught people how to share their life.
~ Robbie Gallaty (Pastor and founder of Replicate Ministries)
The prayer of Christ is that His disciples' testimonies would transform the world!
20 “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word,
19 For though I am free from all, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win more of them. 20 To the Jews I became as a Jew, in order to win Jews. To those under the law I became as one under the law (though not being myself under the law) that I might win those under the law. 21 To those outside the law I became as one outside the law (not being outside the law of God but under the law of Christ) that I might win those outside the law. 22 To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some. 23 I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share with them in its blessings." (1 Corinthians 9:18-23, ESV)
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the things you did do." ~ Mark Twain
"24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near." (Hebrews 10:24-25, ESV)

Week 2 - Becoming more like Christ!
Sunday’s message discussed conviction of truth and we looked specifically at God’s word being the source of how truth is revealed to us. So, the studies for this entire series will center around the content of the message from Sunday, July 8. This will help us understand the base from which all the other sermons inthe series were built. For the next four weeks, will look at a passage that illuminates the sufficiency and certainty of scripture and God’s word! These studies will be very applicable to us as we live in a day and time in our culture where the grounds for the certainty of anything, in any realm, gets called into question. Psalm 19:7-11 is the greatest summation concerning the power of God’s word anywhere in scripture! As a group, turn to Ps. 19:7-11, read aloud and let us marvel at the beauty of this passages truth and its flawless composition.
