22But don’t just listento God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. 23For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. 24You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like.

Week 3 - Leveraging Your Life with God’s Gift

This weekend’s message came from 1 Peter 4:10-11 about our giftedness and how we ae to use that for God’s glory in the building of His Kingdom. Think back to week one where we looked at the Great Commission from Matthew 28:19-20. We are all gifted in different ways, Sunday’s message from 1 Pet. 4 although not exhaustive of all the ways in which we are gifted, even listed some of these specifically. God requires us to share the message of salvation to a lost and dying world. God views His divine calling as the preeminent Gift and how our specific skill set is a secondary gift used to establish and accomplish our main gift--our calling and redemption as children of God. The one commonality in both gifts is that there is a built in measure of sacrifice. Look back at the passage from Sunday, 1 Pet. 4:10-11. Where do you see the presence of sacrifice in this passage?
